Knee Cap Exercise

This average golfer was playing recently and experienced a knee cap “pop” on the fairway after a shot. At first it felt bad and I thought that I blew my knee out, but when I got to the green, I squatted down to get a line on my putt and the knee seemed to “pop” back in. This has been happening from time to time and I’ve brushed it off as aging knees. I came across this link to an exercise that I think may help my problem and wanted to share it. Tomorrow I’ll be playing the Whispering Woods course here in the Pinehurst, N.C. area and will give my readers a rundown. Happy Golfing and stay healthy!

  1. It’s probably a result of overuse from your golf swing putting pressure on the knee joint (check your golf swing technique) or increasing joint laxity as we age, in which case strengthening exercises like this and more traditional resistance exercises (single leg squats and lunges for example will help. Fish oil supplementation could also be beneficial.

    • Thanks for the advise….I’ll look at everything you suggested, especially my swing and the squats. I have taken Fish Oil for a number of years and continue to do so. Again, thanks for the input.
