As an average golfer, I can remember many times when I wanted to cry on the golf course as a result of how I was playing. But, I can also remember many more times when I’ve laughed on the golf course, also as a result of how I was playing. Seems like it’s more fun to laugh than cry. I have a very good friend who I play golf with here in Pinehurst and his son is a P G A professional and has often told us, remember you guys are not professionals! He means no disrespect for us, but what he is saying is that sometimes we are just too hard on ourselves and have to remember that golf is not what we do for a living, it’s what we do for fun. Although the other day, one of my golf buddies and I proclaimed to be professionals as we told some other golfers that we play for money as I was collecting the 50 cents that I won on the back nine. As bad as I play some days, I always look forward to the next round because just being on the course, having fun and enjoying the exercise is what it’s all about. With that in mind, I wanted to share some humor that came from Pinehurst via some caddies comments. Happy golfing from this average golfer and have fun!
