Sanford, N.C. Golf Course

Before the recent cold snap here in Pinehurst, North Carolina, this average golfer was able to hit the links at the Sanford Golf Course which is about a 40 minute ride north of Pinehurst. It’s a great little Course to work on refining your game before hitting some of the local Pinehurst courses. Sanford is a public municipal golf course but is well-maintained and has a very friendly pro shop. If you’re over 50, the all year rate is $20. Whenever I mention a golf course price, that includes your cart and green fees. There are three sets of men’s tees, blue coming in at 6304 yards, white at 5901 and gold at 5164. The slope ratings are 130, 122 and 108 so you can see if you play the gold it is well under average and a fun course to work on your game. So, on your way in or out of Pinehurst it’s a good little stop to warm up your game or finalize your play before heading back north. Luckily the cold snap is going to end here in Pinehurst and we will be back on the links in a few days. Happy golfing from this average golfer!

Tobacco Road

Winter golf here in Pinehurst has gotten off to a slow start do to some rainy weather. However, this average golfer did manage to play Tobacco Road and as always it was a real doozy. This course is located about 20 minutes north of Pinehurst off of US Route 1. If you do come to Pinehurst to golf, this absolutely is a must on your list of courses to play. It is like no other course in the area and a real fun challenge. On the link below, I have provided a fun flyover of the course, courtesy of the Tobacco Road website. Just click on the “take the tour” button and enjoy a trip around the course. I’ll be talking more about the courses  here in Pinehurst when the rain stops!
