Watching the pros hit those super flop shots around the green leaves me with envy. Now, here’s a lesson from Martin Hall and the Golf Academy on how average golfers like me can hit that same shot! Happy golfing!

Gary Player on Putting
How many times have you looked at your scorecard and said, “if only I had made those short putts!” Those missed putts are often the difference between a good round and a bad round. Here’s a video on putting those short putts from Gary Player via the Golf Academy. Happy golfing from this average golfer!
Putting Drill
We all have heard the saying, “drive for show and putt for dough”….how true that is! The short game makes or breaks you every time. I often track my hit fairways and putts during a round of play. My best scoring is when I have putts in the low 30’s or better. Here’s a nice putting drill to help with that part of the game from Michael Breed. Happy golfing from this average golfer!
Short Game Tips
We all know how important the short game is and you can never get too many tips on that part of the game. Here’s a nice 8 minute video from the Golf Academy. Note that they mention that some amateurs use the 8 Iron around the green. I was taught that several years ago, but am now progressing to the 60° wedge. Happy golfing from this average golfer!
John Daly Interview
Here’s a link to the John Daly interview by Dan Patrick via Pinehurst. Happy golfing from this average golfer!
More Putting Tips
In my last post, I mentioned how terrible this average golfers putting was yesterday. Today I am heading out to play the Fox Fire Red Course here in Pinehurst and will be trying some new putting tips to get that part of my game hopefully under control. Here’s another nice video from the Golf Academy with tips from The Golden Bear via Martin Hall. Happy golfing!
Improve Your Putting
This average golfer has been in Pinehurst the last two weeks and the golf has been great as usual here. My play has been pretty good, except for my putting! Putting is terrible so I dug into the video bag to get some help. Maybe this will help others also. Happy golfing!
