100 and the Average Golfer

It’s a well documented fact that the majority of golfers in the world are average golfers which means, their average score is 100. I often refer to myself as “this average golfer” and I am indeed a TRUE average golfer…the average golfers that I play with follow the rules so that if we shoot under 100 it is a true sign of improvement. What do I mean by that statement? Often average golfers feel that they have to shoot less than 100 to prove that they are better golfers, so they roll their balls in the fairway, fluff up their rough shots and anything within three feet of the cup is a gimme! We don’t do that simply because we are not being honest about our game and it does nothing to make us better! So, don’t be afraid or shy to put that 103, 109 or 100 on your scorecard. I guarantee if you count all your strokes, when you do put down that 95 you’ll feel really good about the improvements you made that day. The saving grace is that according to true ESC scoring rules for your handicap, the average golfer can’t put more than an eight (8) on the card.
