The Best Golf Ball for You

Over the years, I’ve bought many different brands of golf balls and never really paid much attention to their construction. Then I read an article that suggested I would be better suited for a two-core ball due to the fact that as I aged, my swing speed got slower. After moving to a two core ball for all my golf outings, I discovered that I really did start getting more distance, as the ball was more suited for me. Here’s a nice link to review ball construction and detemine which ball is best for you. Later, I’ll discuss the brands that I have found to be good. Happy Golfing!

Better Swing Path

As I have posted before, this average golfer has to be looking for ways to improve my game every time I hit the links. Tomorrow, I plan on playing here in Pennsylvania and need to work on my swing path to hit the ball straighter. Here’s a tip I will be working on and wanted to share it for those average golfers out there who have the same needs. Happy golfing!

Jaguar at Pinehurst

This average golfer has been sidelined due to lousy spring weather in the northeast. I left Pinehurst after a great winter of golf and will return in July after the U.S. Open has passed, but still going to be on top of the activities leading up to the Open. Here’s an interesting tidbit from the Open….Happy golfing!

Jason Day at Pinehurst

Another beautiful day on tap here in Pinehurst and this average golfer will be playing Whispering Woods today. In the meantime, here’s a nice video of Jason Day’s take on Pinehurst No. 2. In June the U.S. Opens will be here and the excitement is building day by day. Happy golfing!

Start your day in Pinehurst

It’s another beautiful day here in Pinehurst and this average golfer is going to get in a practice round today. We have two nine hole courses, Midland and Knollwood which are great for working on your game when you need some adjustments. Knollwood also has a nice driving range and practice green for chipping and bunker practice. I’ll be heading over to the Midland course for a couples day of golf. Evidence that the U.S. Open is near is all around with the fencing, bleachers and TV towers under construction over at Pinehurst No. 2. Here’s a nice photo of the 18th Payne Stewart image showing some of the tower construction. Sitting on the veranda overlooking the 18th is a must to do when in Pinehurst. Happy golfing!

Short Game Tip from Greg Norman

This average golfer often looks back on his round of golf and realizes that his score really gets out of control sometimes due to the short game. I mentioned recently that I had the privilege of playing Pinehurst No. 3 and that day I was off the tee and to the green in great shape. However, my short game, especially the approach chipping, drove my score up. I need to play better here and here’s a nice tip from Greg Norman and the Golf Academy. Happy Golfing!
