This has been an unusual winter here in Pinehurst. We have more snow on the ground today and are expecting an ice storm, so we won’t be back golfing until Sunday. This average golfer did get to play a few rounds this past week, one at Bayonet at Puppy Creek. This course is near Fayetteville and is a fun course to play. We played the gold tees with a 66.2 rating/116 slope/5310 yards. An average course from those tees. They have three other tees, Regular, Championship and Professional. The numbers on these tee are as follows: Regular 68.9/127/ 6016; Championship 71.1/134/6472; Professional 74.1/142/7069. So, you can see that this course can test all skill levels of golfers. A definite course to add to your list if you are in the area. A short 40 minute ride from Pinehurst. This average golfer shot a 51/48 for 99 with 39 putts! The short game is always the kicker!
